Lodge Blog Archive
A diary of happenings at Chanters Lodge, Livingstone, Zambia with reflections on Zambia and personal matters too

I may have mentioned that we've started a sponsored programme on Zambezi Radio 107.5, our local station, and I was supposed to have taken a photo of the studio and our presenter Milli Jam for the blog but you'll have to make do with a picture of the river! I'll get a snap of Milli Jam in the next day or two.

I was on the show myself on Sunday - it goes out for half an hour after an intense Gospel bash from 19.00 to 20.00 hours so I guess we're a bit of light relief at eight o'clock - that's what's intended anyway and following a bible bash I guess we achieved that!

The studio's small and compact and the equipment pretty standard I guess. There was a problem with the computer organizing the play list so we definitely didn't get to play all the music I'd requested. We did do "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley and "Umbrella" by Rhianna which are my ring tones and finished with a number by the Dixie Chicks (for Ruth!).

The chat was great and ranged from the old Ridgeway Radio Request Show to Arsenal and my long time involvement with local football as well of course as lots of plugs for the Lodge! Half way through there was a call from the Station Manager that we could extend by 20 minutes free! Great! We're offering a prize on next week's show.

Hey! we talked about the blog as well cos Zambians are not yet so familiar with blogging!

Actually next week's show should be great as we're taking a Guest with us - Chris Livingston from UK - who's very kindly brought some materials for one of the local schools and some 20 pairs of specs to donate and we'll do it live on 107 dot 5! The show has loads of potential and we hope it will lead to increased local sales - it certainly won't do any harm!
